Abhishekam is the consecration of Lord Boomeeswarar by bathing the idol with milk, curds, ghee, honey, and similar such liquids and pastes.
This consecration process, which means to cleanse the idol and to increase its divinity, bestows blessings to the devotee.
It is believed that Vastu Dosha is reduced because of the abhishekam to Lord Boomeeswarar, giving peace, health, wealth, and success, along with other benefits as desired by the devotee.
The eight gods of directions – Kubera, Yama, Indra, Varuna, Shiva, Agni, Vayu, and Nirrti – are also appeased by this abhishekam.

The temple is in the village of Gudimallur, which is about 10 kms. from Walajah Road Junction, 33 kms. from Vellore town, 51 kms. from Kanchipuram town, and 110 kms. from Chennai city.
The prime deity of the temple is Lord Boomeeswarar, a form of Lord Shiva. Goddess Soundaravalli is another deity of the temple.

Gudimallur is part of the Arcot region. It is believed that the Saptha Maharishis lived in this region worshipping Lord Shiva.
The temple is believed to be two thousand years old.

Devotees visit this temple to overcome Vastu dosha bringing peace in their homes or workplaces.
Vastu homams are performed regularly in this temple.
The idol of Lord Boomeeswarar is in a Linga form facing east. Goddess Soundaravalli is facing south.
The Rajagopuram is of five levels.

The puja will be performed on the scheduled date either in the morning or in the evening as per the head priest's sole discretion based on other festivals and programs conducted in the temple.
Puja confirmation mail will be sent on the next day of the puja date. It's an automated mail, which will be manually intervened, only when there is a change in the puja schedule.
