In sanctorum the presiding deity of Perumal is in standing posture on the Avudaiyar (base) of Shivalingam. This is to emphasise the unity of Saivism and Vaishnavism that both are same.
On the day of Vaikunda Ekadasi, the opening of Sorkavasal leads to the darshan of Moolavr himself unlike other Perumal temples where we can have darshan of Urchavar.
Pradosham is celebrated here in grand manner as Shiva and Vishnu are together here.
