Alangudi Guru Temple History :

Alangudi is a small village located near Kumbakonam town(18 kms) in the state of Tamilnadu.

This is one of the nine Navagraha temples specifically meant for Guru Baghavan. The presiding deity is Lord.Shiva, who is worshiped here as “ Abath Sahayeswarar” ,the fortune God. Goddess Parvati,his consort, is depicted as Elavar Kuzhali Amman. This temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 275 Padal Petra Sthalams of Lord Siva.One can find it glorified in the early mythological Tevaram poems written and sung by the famed 63 nayanmars.

This temple is built on in the lines of Dravidian Style of Architecture.

As per the legend, this temple is believed to have been more than 2000 years old. It is a world famous temple for removing all Guru (Jupiter) related dhoshas.

The puja will be performed on the scheduled date either in the morning or in the evening as per the head priest's sole discretion based on other festivals and programs conducted in the temple.
Puja confirmation mail will be sent on the next day of the puja date. It's an automated mail, which will be manually intervened, only when there is a change in the puja schedule.
