Oothukadu Kalinga Narthana Perumal Temple History :

Oothukadu is a village located near Kumbakonam town (15 kms), in Tamilnadu.

The Presiding Deity is Lord Vishnu, known as Veda Narayanar in this temple and is flanked by his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. Lord Krishna is seen here inside the sanctum sanctorum of the main shrine in a dancing posture as a 5 years old boy.He is very very powerful and blesses his devotees lavishly. This temple popularly known as Oothukadu temple is famous for nullifying and removing Rahu related doshas,Sapa Doshas and grants child boons to the devotees.

About Lord.Kalinga Narthana in this temple :

  • This Panchaloka Idol of Lord.Krishna was found out from the temple tank and the temple became very popular thereafter.
  • Lord Krishna performed a Kalinga Narthana in front of the divine cows - Nandhini and Patti – children of Kamadhenu. Sage.Naradha believed to have witnessed the dance performed by the Lord.
  • This is the only temple where Lord Vishnu is seen here in a dancing posture.
  • He is seen here in a dancing posture with his left foot on the serpent Kalinga’s head and his right leg in the air. His left hand can be seen holding the serpent Kalinga’s tail and his right hand shows Abhya Mudra.

Significance of Oothukadu Kalinga Narthana Temple :

  • Child birth related obstacles will be neutralized and nullified
  • Helps to speed up the marriage process by eliminating any type of curses, Dhoshas that block the marriage due to Rahu and Sarpa dhosha.
  • Anna prasanam (first rice feeding) is very famous in this temple

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy

To avoid cancellation charges, please reschedule or cancel the order 72 hours before the scheduled time. For details see cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy:
  • Your service request may be rescheduled or cancelled online through Divinvite platform (web/app)
  • The cancellation charges are mentioned hereinafter :

    • = 72 hrs -; Zero cancellation charges. 100% refund excluding convenience charges paid, if any.

    Between 72 hrs &; 48 hrs; - 25% cancellation charges &; convenience charges paid, if any.

    Between 48 hrs &; 24 hrs; - 50% cancellation charges ;&; convenience charges paid, if any.

    <=24 hrs;; - NO REFUND

  • If the order booked falls within the time frame of the above policy and cancelled afterwards by the customer, the cancellation charges will be applicable as per the above slot anyway.
  • The rescheduling ( one time) of a service is possible within the available service categories pertaining to that city; and or date; for one time only.You can change the date of the booked service prior to 72 hours and or change it from one service (booked service) to another service.
  • For rituals like Amavasya Tharpanam and all Punniyakala Tharpanams like ( Chithrai vishu, Aadi Amavasaya,Thai Amavasya,Thula vishu); NO REFUND WILL BE MADE IRRESPECTIVE OF THE TIME OF CANCELLATION).;
  • If the service professional is running late by over 60 minutes and ;the customer wants to cancel the order, then the cancellation charges will NOT be applicable
  • Due to any unforeseen circumstances or internal reasons, Divinvite reserves the right to cancel any order at any point of time and Divinvite will not be liable to anyone for the same.
  • If the visit is cancelled by the service professional or Divinvite then customer is NOT liable to pay cancellation charges.
