Thanthondreeswarar Temple History :

Thanthodreeswarar temple is located at Woraiyur in Trichy City. Another name for this temple is “ Sri Kumkumavalli Sametha Thanthondreeswarar Temple”. The presiding deity Lord.Siva is depicted as “Thanthondreeswarar “ and his consort goddess Parvathi is depicted as “ Kumkumavalli Amman”.

As per the legend, once upon a time there was a Chola King by name Sooravaditha Cholan,who had Woraiyur (part of the current Trichy City) as his headquarters. His wife Gandhimathi, a Naga Kanni used to visit Thiruchirar malai, (famously known as “MalaiKottai “) to have dharshan of Lord.Thayumanavar everyday on foot, through this temple ,which was a greenery enclosure then . She didn’t stop visiting even for one day , when she was pregnant also. One day as she was crossing this place, she couldn’t walk further and went into labour and she started crying as she won’t be able to have dharshan of the Lord on that day. Lord Siva not only gave dharshan to her but also ensured safe delivery of the child. Hence, this lord is known as Thanthondreeswarar in Tamil, a self-manifested God. This temple is believed to have been more than 1000 years old.

Significance of Thanthondreeswarar Temple :

  • The Goddess here does miracles by granting child boon to her devotees. She is adorned with bangles during a three day yearly temple festival which will be witnessed by thousands of devotees.
  • By performing this Homam, one can get child boon immediately.
  • Goddess Kali has got three different shrines here representing three worlds Padhalam, Boologam and Akasam respectively.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy

To avoid cancellation charges, please reschedule or cancel the order 72 hours before the scheduled time. For details see cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy:
  • Your service request may be rescheduled or cancelled online through Divinvite platform (web/app)
  • The cancellation charges are mentioned hereinafter :

    • = 72 hrs -; Zero cancellation charges. 100% refund excluding convenience charges paid, if any.

    Between 72 hrs &; 48 hrs; - 25% cancellation charges &; convenience charges paid, if any.

    Between 48 hrs &; 24 hrs; - 50% cancellation charges ;&; convenience charges paid, if any.

    <=24 hrs;; - NO REFUND

  • If the order booked falls within the time frame of the above policy and cancelled afterwards by the customer, the cancellation charges will be applicable as per the above slot anyway.
  • The rescheduling ( one time) of a service is possible within the available service categories pertaining to that city; and or date; for one time only.You can change the date of the booked service prior to 72 hours and or change it from one service (booked service) to another service.
  • For rituals like Amavasya Tharpanam and all Punniyakala Tharpanams like ( Chithrai vishu, Aadi Amavasaya,Thai Amavasya,Thula vishu); NO REFUND WILL BE MADE IRRESPECTIVE OF THE TIME OF CANCELLATION).;
  • If the service professional is running late by over 60 minutes and ;the customer wants to cancel the order, then the cancellation charges will NOT be applicable
  • Due to any unforeseen circumstances or internal reasons, Divinvite reserves the right to cancel any order at any point of time and Divinvite will not be liable to anyone for the same.
  • If the visit is cancelled by the service professional or Divinvite then customer is NOT liable to pay cancellation charges.
