Thirupanthurai Sri Sivanandeswarar History :

The temple situated in Thirupanthurai village on the route between Kumbhakonam and Karaikkal, 9 km Southeast of Kumbhakonam, near Nachiyar Koyil. Presiding Deity is Sri Sivanandeswarar along with his consort, Mangalambikai.

We all know that the divine incident of Lord Muruga explaining the Meaning of The Pranava Mantra to His father Lord Shiva happened in Swamimalai. Lord Muruga has imprisoned Lord Brahmma since He did not know the meaning of Pranava Mantra.

Because of this action, Goddess Saraswathi thought that Lord Muruga is more conceit and proud because of His knowledge. So She condemned for His behavior and made him Dumb.

Lord Muruga came to this Shiva temple in Thirupandurai to perform penance and worshipped Lord Shiva to regain His speech. Shiva blessed his child restoring him to his glory.

Since Lord Muruga Himself got his speech back in this temple, people bring their children who are either dumb or having stammering issues in speaking to this temple.

Significance of Sri Sivanandeswarar Temple :

  • Lord Ganesha took the form of Twins and came to this temple in order to give protection for His younger brother who is in penance. Hence you can see 2 Vinayakas in the temple namely Guha Vinayaka and Sakshi Vinayaka.
  • Though it’s a Shiva temple, Lord Muruga takes all the dominance in the temple. A separate Sanctum for Lord Muruga is found just opposite to Lord Shiva’s Sanctum.
  • Lord Muruga graces His devotees as Lord Gyana Dhandayuthapani showing a Chinmudra in one hand, having the Holy Stick (Dhandam) on the other Hand. Moreover, His eyes are closed in meditation. This is a very rare form of Lord Muruga to be seen in any other temple

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy

To avoid cancellation charges, please reschedule or cancel the order 72 hours before the scheduled time. For details see cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy:
  • Your service request may be rescheduled or cancelled online through Divinvite platform (web/app)
  • The cancellation charges are mentioned hereinafter :

    • = 72 hrs -; Zero cancellation charges. 100% refund excluding convenience charges paid, if any.

    Between 72 hrs &; 48 hrs; - 25% cancellation charges &; convenience charges paid, if any.

    Between 48 hrs &; 24 hrs; - 50% cancellation charges ;&; convenience charges paid, if any.

    <=24 hrs;; - NO REFUND

  • If the order booked falls within the time frame of the above policy and cancelled afterwards by the customer, the cancellation charges will be applicable as per the above slot anyway.
  • The rescheduling ( one time) of a service is possible within the available service categories pertaining to that city; and or date; for one time only.You can change the date of the booked service prior to 72 hours and or change it from one service (booked service) to another service.
  • For rituals like Amavasya Tharpanam and all Punniyakala Tharpanams like ( Chithrai vishu, Aadi Amavasaya,Thai Amavasya,Thula vishu); NO REFUND WILL BE MADE IRRESPECTIVE OF THE TIME OF CANCELLATION).;
  • If the service professional is running late by over 60 minutes and ;the customer wants to cancel the order, then the cancellation charges will NOT be applicable
  • Due to any unforeseen circumstances or internal reasons, Divinvite reserves the right to cancel any order at any point of time and Divinvite will not be liable to anyone for the same.
  • If the visit is cancelled by the service professional or Divinvite then customer is NOT liable to pay cancellation charges.
