  • This Temple is situated in Tamil Nadu - Viluppuram District ,Vanur Taluk., Panchavdi .
  • This temple is located in a distance of around twelve Kilo Meters away from Puducherry. This temple is sited in the Puducherry – Tindivanam route.
  • Pachavadi temple can be reached from nearby towns like Cuddalore , Nellikuppam, Villupuram and Marakkanam.

Panchavadi – Panchamuga Hanuman Temple History :

  • The demon King Ravana with the help of another demon “Mayil Ravana” started a Yagna (a kind of of ritual offer performed with fire) for the victory in the battle with Sri Ramachandra Moorthi.
  • Sri Vibeshana cautioned about this to Sri Ramachandra Moorthi and said that once the Yagna is over then Ravana will become stronger and that will be a threat to Sri Rama.
  • Sri Ramachandra Moorthi asked Sri Anjaneya Swamy to destroy the Yagna.
  • Sri Narasimha , Sri Hayagriva, Sri varagha Moorthi , Sri Gharuda were also mixed their aspects with Sri Anjaneya Swamy. This form of Sri Anjaneyar with five faces, is called as “Sri Panchamuga Anjaneya”. This form is also refered as “Sri Jeya Mangala Visvaroopa Anjaneya”.
  • Sri Panchamuga Anjaneya destroyed the Yagna and killed “Mayil Ravana” in the battle.
  • This form of Sri Anjaneya is unique and powerful since this form has five powerful deities aspects.
  • Sri Garada and Sri Hanuman are refered in the name of “Periya Thiruvadi” and “Siriya Thiruvadi” respectively. “Thiruvadi” means great devotee who serves god without any expectations .
  • Since Sri Garuda and Sri Hanuman are great devotees of Lord Sri Vishnu, they referred so.
  • Hence this form of “Sri Panchamuga Anjaner” alias “Sri Jeyamangala Anjaneyar” is so powerful. One who worship Sri Panchamuga Anjaneya will get wealth (sri Lakshmi Kadacham), sound health, success in his efforts, protection from poisonous creature and mental peacefulness.
  • Once sagacious and Siddhars were doing penance here. They were performing Yagnas here. Hence this place is filled with spritual vibrations.
  • This temple’s construction work started in 1999 and got its completion in the year 2007. The “Kumbabishegam” (part of consecration ceremony) held in the same year. This temple is being well maintained by a board of trustees. The second Kumbabishegam ceremony held in the year 2019 , June .

Significance of Panchavadi – Panchamuga Hanuman Temple :

  • It is a South facing, neat and clean temple. This temple is in a area of Twelve Acres. The Height of the tower (Gopuram) above the shrine of Sri Panchamuga Anjaneyar is around 120 feets.
  • “Sri Panchamuga Anjaneya Swamy” alias “Sri Jeya Manga Viswaroopa Anjaneya” is in the standing posture with a height of 36 Feets.
  • In a seperate shrine Sri Pattabishega Ramachandra Moorti, Sri Sita Devi, Sri Lakshmana , Sri Shatrukana and Sri Bharatha are present and shower their blessings to the devotees.
  • There are separate shrines for Sri Jeya Mangala Vinayagar and Sri Vari Venkatachalapathi.
  • Every Saturday is significant day and a huge crowd of devotees gather here to worship all the deities.
  • Sri Hanuman Jeyanthi, Sri Ramanavami, Vaigunda Egathesi festivels are celebrated and special poojas are being preformed in a grand manner in this temple.

  • Devotees worship here by offering Vadaimalai ( Garland made of “Milagu Vadai”) ,” Vetrilai Malai “( Garland of Betel leaves) to Sri Jeyamangala Anjaneya Swamy.
  • People offer “Thirumanjanam” to all deities. “Thirumanjanam” is a ceremonial bath to God with oil , Milk, sandal mixed water, Rose water and so on to get the blessing of the Deity.
  • Devotees offer Tulasi leaves garland to “Sri Pattabishega Ramachandra Moorti” and “Sri Panchamuga Anjaneya Swamy”.
